HydroHeat were proud to attend the PICAC (Plumbing Industry Climate Action Centre) launch of their new Hydrogen Centre Of Excellence in Beenleigh QLD. The new training and research facility is focussed on training and exploring the use of Green Hydrogen as an alternative fuel. As supporters and partners of PICAC HydroHeat fully support their endeavours to promote and advance the Green Hydrogen industry in Australia.
The new $20 million dollar vocational training facility just south of Brisbane was co-funded by the Queensland Government, and adds to the existing Beenleigh facility, which is part of PICAC’s network of five campuses along Australia’s eastern seaboard.
The Hydrogen Centre of Excellence opening was attended by the Queensland State Premier and a host of industry heavyweights from both Queensland and the Southern states. HydroHeat’s own Shane Lewis was in attendance and shared the latest industry knowledge and trends in sustainable hydrogen heating. Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said the centre would support more good job opportunities in Queensland’s growing hydrogen sector. “Queensland is on track to becoming a global hydrogen heavyweight,” the Premier said.
As part of HydroHeat’s commitment to future sustainability and the training of our young tradespeople, we are at the forefront of introducing Hydrogen gas blended boilers to Australia, importing BAXI hydronic boilers from Italy which utilise condensing technology that is Hydrogen blend ready. The BAXI Duo-Tec E 33kW combi boiler on display in Beenleigh is already 20% H2 ready with a natural gas blend with no modifications required.
The event was a great success and HydroHeat were honoured to be a part of it, we welcome the focus on heating sustainability to ensure our future heating requirements are met. We anticipate the use of Green Hydrogen and Natural Gas blending as a fuel source will play a big part in our renewable’s future and Net Zero 2050 endeavours.
